Final Major Project
Feedback On FMP
For my FMP I chose a selection of people on my course and off my course to give me feedback on my photobook this meant i had an array of different what went wells and improvements i could make on it.

Evaluation
Research and Context:
For context I decided to research the background things about my chosen project, this included: toy soldiers, Photobooks, different versions of landscape photos, the photography hardware, and the company that creates the miniatures that I used within the project, I chose to research these due to the fact of these would help me to get an understanding of what I wanted to have in my diorama and final photos. For research I chose to research all of the direct links to my project, because of this I chose to research diorama photography, 4 different miniature photographers and I analysed 2 photos from each photographer, my inspiration account (minibricks) and the lore for Warhammer 40K which included what scene I was going to do from the lore, I decided to choose these because I wanted to get an understanding of what my photos might look like and how I wanted to film me making it.
Resources and Materials:
In terms of resources and materials I used the computers at the college and my laptop at home for research and editing, 3 30cm polystyrene blocks, a Stanley knife, a range of citadel paints, 5 different brushes for the models and the diorama base, sponges, 2 boxes of Ork Boyz, an already painted razorback, a squad of first-born already painted, three primaris ultramarine's, a squad of pre painted space marine scouts, a tri-pod, camera charger, cannon camera, a 32GB memory card, a 16GB memory card, micro lens and my phone I used all of these to research, film, photograph and create the FMP.
How the Resources and Materials Helped Inform the Development of My Work:
These helped me to inform the development of my FMP because I was able to film the process of making it and I also used the computers at college and my own laptop to kept a constant blog to inform my peers and tutors of what I have been doing throughout the FMP, further more to show what I had been doing throughout the FMP I created a production schedule.
How I Solved Practical and Theoretical Problems:
During the creation of the FMP I faced a fair few problems these problems included expenses, research problems and family issues, expense wise I solved by saving up and my mum buying the polystyrene for the project this was a problem as otherwise I wouldn't have completed it in time, next was the research problems this was a problem as I didn't have an idea of what to research or how to research anything or anyone, the way I solved this was that I asked help from my peers and tutors and took their ideas and altered them to finish up on the Research and Context and finally Family issues, this was a problem because it was my Dads birthday and the WiFi was awful and it took two days to upload one of the final shoots. Also, a problem that I noticed occurred right at the end (the printing of the photobook) of the FMP which was that the final images in the photobook came out over saturated this was a problem I wasn't able to solve in time however I got feedback from Sam which explained if I used glossy or matte print the photos would have come out better.
Parts of the FMP that Were Most Effective:
The things that I thought were the most effective were the Research I did, the filming and editing in the creation of the diorama and the photobook I created in PowerPoint. I think these were the most effective as with the research I put as much detail as possible to help give me and the marker the best way to imagine what the final photos and filming would turn out like, I think the filming and editing in the creation of the diorama went well because I used many different filming and editing techniques to show the creation of it, such as: time lapses, perfect cutting and close up shots, and finally I think that the online version of the photobook went extremely well due to the quality of the images and the description of the practical and thought processes of creating the final photos.
What New Skills Did You Learn During Your FMP:
During the entire FMP i learnt a lot of skills. The things i learnt during the creation of the diorama were how to create a realistic base for dioramas, the painting of Ork Boyz, how to add texture to a diorama and how to glue plastic to polystyrene. I learnt how to edit RAW photos and how to take pictures with a macro lens. I learnt how to create a time-lapse video in premiere pro. and finally i learnt how to create a photobook and how to print it from PowerPoint.
What Have You Learnt From the Feedback You Received:
From the feedback I received from my peers, family and friends I learnt a few things. First of which I learnt from Sam that to print from PowerPoint properly i should have asked the printing services to print my photobook in glossy or matte format to give my photos the best look possible, I also learnt from Stuart that I should take a more abstract approach next time I create a diorama, finally I learnt that I should do some more experimentation with my final images next time.
